The function of spline coupling in mechanical transmission;
1. Coupling keys are used to connect shafts and parts on shafts. They are circumferentially fixed to transfer torque, such as gears, pulleys, coupling and shafts. Key connections can be divided into three categories: loose key connections, key connections and spline connections.
Spline connection is composed of multiple key teeth and keyways on the shaft and hub hole. The side of key teeth is the working face, and the torque is transmitted by the extrusion of the side of key teeth.
Spline connection has high bearing capacity, high centering accuracy and good guidance performance, which can realize static or dynamic connection. It can also play a convenient role in disassembly and assembly. Therefore, it is widely used in aircraft, automobiles, tractors, machine tools and agricultural machinery.
In key connection assembly, keys (usually made of 45 steel) are used to connect the parts on the axle and to fix them circumferentially in order to transfer Torque. The connection categories include loose key connection, tight key connection and spline connection.
2. Key Points of Assembly Technology for Key Connections
(1) Alignment of keys, symmetry and parallelism of keyway to axis should be checked before assembly.
(2) There is a gap between the two sides of the ordinary flat key and the shaft keyway. When heavy load, impact and bidirectional operation are used, there must be excess. There should be no interference between the arcs at both ends of the bond. There should be a gap of 0.10 mm between the key end and the groove.
(3) The bottom of the ordinary flat key and the bottom of the key groove of the coupling should be firmly adhered.
(4) The radius of semi-circular keys should be slightly less than that of axle grooves. Other requirements are the same as those of general flat keys.
